Prepare the SCORM package
Export a clean SCORM ZIP and record its expected completion rule, success rule and pass mark. Test it before adding it to the live course.
Do not alter the internal ZIP structure after export unless you know exactly what you are changing.
1. Add the package as course content
Open the target course in TalentLMS and add the SCORM package as a content unit. Upload the ZIP and give the unit a clear title that identifies the current release.
If the upload fails, inspect the package structure and manifest rather than repeatedly rebuilding the same file.
2. Check completion and score expectations
The authored course and LMS need to agree on what the learner must do. Decide whether completion alone is enough or whether a passing score is required.
If a learner finishes but the LMS status is wrong, compare the values being reported with your intended rule. See completion vs passed/failed.
3. Test the full learner journey
- Launch the unit as a learner.
- Pass and fail separate attempts.
- Exit midway and confirm resume works.
- Review the score and completion data in TalentLMS reports.
- Repeat after any package update.
4. Troubleshoot systematically
If the package launches but does not report correctly, test the same ZIP in a second SCORM environment. That helps separate an authoring issue from an LMS configuration issue.
